She had been born in 1969
and yet, she was living in 1926.
She watched the world mourn
Rudolph Valentino’s death and
saw the age of the flapper come alive.

She was not sure how she had arrived here
She thought, perhaps, she was dead, transporting through time.
In the words of the great Constannce Flannery-O’Day
“Don’t be afraid…
it’s only falling asleep in one world and waking up in another.

And so, she decided to take each day as it came.
How was she to know that she would never
want to come back?

She had been in a coma for six months.
Her family and friends felt sure she would remain
unconscious forever.
Curiously, one day
she woke up screaming
for someone who had died three months before.
